SAWR have extensive experience in undertaking the remediation of a wide range of sites, we have significant experience of a number of techniques for the remediation of contaminated soils and groundwater.
As a company, and as principle contractor, we have undertaken remediation projects, varying significantly in both scope and size. From small scale residential oil spill works to remediation of large scale, problematic industrial sites. The scale of works varying from 20m3 to 200,000m3 of soils requiring movement/treatment and or replacement. Many of these schemes also require treatment of groundwater and a range of In- and Ex-situ methods have also been successfully employed.
We can offer an unrivalled understanding of the regulatory and licensing requirements that are determined to be adhered to whilst undertaking such projects, as well as the production of robust validation report to satisfy both Regulators and Stakeholders.
Within SAWR we have a high level of 'in-house' expertise and speciality skills with which we use to undertake such remediation works. One of our main strengths is the proven expertise of the individual personnel within our company, we feel this is of significant importance to the Client.
Earthworks
The controlled excavation, movement and handling of large volumes of various classifications and matrix of soils, followed by identification, sentencing and subsequent backfilling works to works specification is something SAWR frequently undertake.
Selective excavation, controlled handling and intensive schedule of testing, whether it be Geotechnical or Chemical allows SAWR to ensure maximum recovery of site won materials. An extensive and full understanding of all regulatory guidelines, and works specification, what with regards site retention of soils is paramount to the success of any Enabling works project.
Should the works so determine, soils stabilisation is something SAWR can both design and undertake, again to ensure recovered soils are utilised to its full potential.
Enabling Works
From the breaking-out and processing of extensive in-ground structures and foundations, to the undertaking of both hard and soft landscaping works. We can also undertake all necessary temporary works and de watering works associated with such projects.

With regards to general soils excavation and off-site removal works, SAWR have extensive experience of undertaking such works in a controlled and efficient manner. Whether it be by determination of detailed excavation plan, selective excavation, materials handling and waste minimisation, followed by accurate waste classification through extensive soils analysis, our experienced staff can ensure the most cost efficient and sustainable scheme is provided for our client.
